  DREAM BIGGER
Preventing Violence Against Women & Children through Advocacy, Support, Resourcing, Networking, Scholarship &  Financial Planning, Micro-Enterprising & Some Very Serious Community Awareness!

 COMING UP ON THREE
Many women & children often can't find services or perhaps need resources that don't yet exist, perpetuating the trauma of family violence. Dream Bigger's vision of finding solutions to the un-met needs is now a reality!  Happy 3rd Birthday Dream Bigger!

THANK YOU FROM A MOM WITH YOUNG KIDS
"Through Dream BIgger I have a network of friends who understand the trauma my kids & I have been through. They helped me find resources in my community for finances, housing, legal & more that I didn't know existed. The When Love Hurts & Why Does He Do That Books they gave me helped me see I wasn't alone. I had become so isolated I had no idea that so many others had been down this path before me & knew how to help. Dream Bigger provided a support group that developed into lifetime friendships & paid for me to attend advocacy trainings so I can be a support to other women myself.  My future is filled with so much more hope now".  -A Thankful Mom With Young Kids

SAFE HOME PROJECT
Women just like you become homeless as a result of family violence. It's not somebody on the other side of the tracks, in someone else's neighborhood or family - it happens to people you know. It could be your sister, friend, neighbor, co-worker-someone you see daily.

75% of the homeless in our own neighborhoods are women & children escaping family violence.
When she begins moving out of the family home. her chances of death are increased by 75%!  Rental assistance is available, but not mortgage assistance.  Fear of losing her home & destroyed credit increase the stress of Family Violence. Communities offer heating assistance but require late notices.  Sadly, only 1% of the world's real estate is owned by women!

The Dream Bigger Safe Home Project finds & creates resources to manage the mine field's of family violence. Micro-enterprising is used to develop a path to long-term solutions. Temporary financial grants offer a step-up to get mortgage pmts current til the family gets back on their feet, without losing their homes to foreclosure, compromising credit or peace of mind

Dream Bigger sponsors work parties to help women repair & maintain their homes while recovering from family violence! We're thankful for volunteers & local businesses who've provided building supplies, goods & services for the Safe Home Projects!

              ART AS HEALING!
The children's art group has built self-esteem & friendships within a safe network of others who've experienced the trauma of family violence. Providing a place of belonging for these wounded children has proven to be very healing!

DANCING FOR JOY!
Dancing For Joy sponsored a benefit on behalf of Dream Bigger at the Fairhaven Firehouse  - The Theatre Was Packed! The music, dancing & creativity was Amazing! The student-led event built our Dance Scholarship Fund for hurting women & children!  Thank You Dancing For Joy & Jubilee Dance Company!

DID YOU KNOWAccording to The World Health Organization
*The #1 cause of birth defects is violence against pregnant women
*Among women ages 15-44, violence accounts for more death & disability
than the combined effects of cancer, malaria, traffic injuries & war.
*Four women Die every day as a result of intimate partner violence
*Every 45 seconds a woman is battered in her own home by her intimate partner
*Of men who are violent toward their wives, 50-75% also abuse their children
*A boy who grows up witnessing his father abuse his mother is
one thousand % more likely than other boys to repeat that violent pattern
